Holy Matrimony

The Sacrament of Matrimony is a covenant made between a man and a woman who pledge publicly, before a priest or witness authorized by the church and witnesses chosen by the couple, a love for each other that is open to the transmission of life, faithful, unconditional and forgiving for all the days of their lives. When two people are able to love in this way, God is present and real in our midst. The couple’s life together becomes a sacrament – revealing God’s presence to those around them.

Arrangements for a marriage at the Church of Saint Luke are to be made with the Pastor at least six months in advance of the desired date of marriage. Ordinarily, one party to the marriage must be a member of the Church of Saint Luke. An outline of marriage preparation is available by calling the parish office at 570-421-9097.
