Renovation Project
Renovations inside the Church began on approximately 9/13/2022.
Below are the upgrades that will be done. Before pictures are on the website and we will periodically post pictures and the status of our progress.
Upgrades Include:
Wallpaper removal and painting
Flooring
Pews
Kneelers
Chairs
Front Steps
The wallpaper will be removed, and the entire interior of the church painted.
Carpeting will be replaced with patterned carpet tiles for most of the church, the entryway will have a different surface to minimize the effect of foot traffic and outdoor elements and the altar will be done in an accent color, highlighting the wood surfaces.
The pews are in good shape. The surfaces have been weakened due to cleaning associated with COVID cleaning protocols. The pews will be refinished to bring back that healthy glow.
For a few kneelers, the frames and feet are in bad shape but most of them can be reupholstered. We are currently assessing the best fabric for comfort and maintainability.
Chairs will be replaced or reupholstered in durable fabric to match the new colors.
The front steps of the Church will be replaced. To date, we have architectural diagrams of the future design (see outside photos) and have received the appropriate HARB (Historic Architecture Review Board) and Borough approval. An RFP (Request for Proposal) was issued and Northern Masonry was selected as our contractor. We received Diocesan approval and expect to begin demolition in November.
Other upgrades that make sense will be done during this renovation.
