Baptism

Baptism

The Christian community of the Church of Saint Luke joyously welcomes new members in the Sacrament of Baptism. In asking that a child be baptized, families are committing their child to Christianity and asking that the child become a member of the Body of Christ, the Church. Parents are accepting the lifelong responsibility of bringing the child up in the Faith of the Catholic Church. Godparents, a man and a woman of good standing in their parish and in the Catholic Church, accept the responsibility of assisting parents in raising the child in the Faith.

Families wishing to have their children baptized are required to complete instruction in the sacrament, which is held on the second and fourth Sundays of the month in the Barrett Center. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated within the Liturgy on the first Saturday of the month at 4:30 pm Mass and on the third Sunday of the month at the 11:00 am Mass. Please call the parish office to make arrangements.
