Pastoral Council

Parish Council Role:

The purpose of the parish pastoral council is to examine pastoral matters, to consider them thoroughly, and to propose practical conclusions about them to the pastor. The council meets with the pastor twice monthly.

Meet the Team

  • Fernando Alves - Chairman

    Controller at the Archdiocese of New York. Fernando is a member of the Pastoral Council, Liturgical Committee, Knights of Columbus and serves as a Catechist and Usher.

  • Marty Diorio – Vice Chairman

    Marty has been a member of St. Luke’s parish for 34 years. He is a Eucharistic Minister and presently is Vice Chair of the Pastoral Council. He also participates in the Community Meal program.

  • Deborah Herbert - Secretary

    Retired Benefits Manager for Mars, Incorporated. Debby is a member of the Pastoral Council (currently its Secretary), Co-Chair of the Hospitality Committee and one of the Alpha Program Team Leaders.

  • Dan Foti

    VP Sales for Pro-Tech Solutions, LLC. Dan is a member of the Pastoral Council, Communication Committee, Knights of Columbus, and serves as an Usher.

  • Diego Pelaez

    Production Manager - Siemens Healthineers. Diego is a member of the Pastoral Council, serves as a Eucharistic Minister and runs the community Meals.

  • Rick Mutchler

    President, BioSpectra, Inc. Rick is a member of the Parish Pastoral Council, Finance Committee and the Building & Grounds Committee.

  • Tony O’Reilly

    Member of Pastoral Council, Cursillo, and helps with the senior luncheon. Tony has been a member of the parish of St. Lukes for 25 years.

  • Janet M. Smith

    Retired Educator, serves on Parish Council, Religious Education, and Craft and Chat Group.

  • Ana Rivera

    Psychotherapist specializing in Mental Illness, Children and Family. Ana is a member of the Pastorial Council, Senior Luncheon Crew, C.C.D. Teacher and a Alpha Program Leader.

  • Anthony Stevens-Arroyo

    Professor Emeritus from Brooklyn College, theologian, academic author, retired columnist on religion for the Washington Post, co-founder of FLECHA that serves Latinos in the Poconos. In addition to parish council, Tony serves as a Cantor, Commentator, and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
